What I Had Forgotten About Brazil

What I Had Forgotten about Brazil
- Doorknobs turn the opposite way.
- Refrigerator doors open from the left side, unless otherwise specified.
- Used toilet paper goes into a strategically placed disposal can with a lid.
- English is not as widely spoken as one would hope.
- It is really hot in February.
- Brazilian cheese-bread is delicious—and gluten free.
What I won’t forget is how welcoming and generous my son and his now-fiancée were to this 80-something year old.
It always warms my heart seeing how much americans love and cherish the warmth and kindness of brazilian people. It’s a good reminder, specially in times that hatred seems to define the outline of human connections, that the only unbreakable bond between us is the way each one can touch one’s soul in a positive way :)

You're always very welcome. Just don't forget to come back often and say hello so we don't miss you.

Congratulations to your son on his engagement! And, as always, kudos to you for your adventurous spirit and your ability to follow that spirit!

How beautiful to read about our daily lives with your attentive and caring gaze. May many doors always be open for. Hope you always have the best cheese bread and I really hope you always feel welcomed in Brazil.
